Dear Ewen,
My neighbour has just popped her head over the fence to tell me that I have a number of Privet plants growing in our garden and that it is causing havoc with her hayfever. I did a quick look up on the internet and it certainly seems that, to may local body authorities, it has been pronounced as being noxious.
The poor lady, of course I said I would cut them out (around six well-established shrubs in all, each around five feet tall.
As removal will leave some big gaps in my garden plantings I would appreciate your comments on this species.
